As part of the "IRSCHEN" research project, the international conference on "Digital Technologies, Common European Cultural Heritage, and Sustainable Development" is being organized on March 21, 2023 at the Event Hall "Evi Laskari" of the Public Central Historical Library of Corfu (English Barracks - Old Fort, Historical City of Corfu). Responsible for the organization of the international conference are the faculty members of the Ionian University, Olga Eleni Astara (Assistant Professor of the Department of Regional Development) and Naoum Mylonas (Assistant Professor of the Department of Tourism), institutionally responsible for the research project. At the international conference that coincides with the completion of the research project, the most important results of the project will be announced and, at the same time, proposals related to the main themes of the project will be offered. Please see the attached conference program. The conference will take place from 08:30 to 15:00 and entry is free to all interested parties. The language to be offered is English. It is noted that certificates of participation-attendance of the Conference will be granted if requested.

Some information about the research project: Irschen project which is under KA2 action in the frame of Erasmus+  is a cooperation between educational institutions and businesses as well as regional development agents that can see a big opportunity to thrive and improve their skills and products in terms of new tools and digital competence in ICT and visualization techniques that open up new ways of collaboration in terms of open and distant Cultural Heritage Education through this strategic alliance of partners from 4 countries. “IRSCHEN” is not only the Acronym of the project but also the place where the project idea was born and where a very special site of archaeological importance called “Burgbichl” has been discovered recently by the Coordinators of the project, University of Innsbruck.

  • Municipality of Irschen
